The narrator is first person narrator. The story based on father’s day and it is a dramatic story. His father is not modern with his looks and behaviours, he goes to his work and doesn’t talk that much. All his life is the family. I think the narrator chose the father’s day for the narrator’s father to be buried because maybe he wants to give a message like at least think and remember your fathers on friday’s day and not to take them granted. He blames himself because he didn’t use to talk to him much and he thinks that he couldn’t show his love to the father. The key represents the care of the father to his son because the father said he would need a place to stay overnight. One thing that the readers can learn is that they mustn’t take their fathers granted and be lovely to them and spend time with them.

Is that something that you learnt?

I do not need to learn it I guess. As I am so proud of my daddy so much that I do not need to think that way and then show my love. I mean I didn’t like the idea that someday he will die so I must respect him, be good to him etc. Maybe, I will be sorry for my faults as well. But loving somebody just because s/he will die is not nice, especially if it is your father.
